DEAN’S MESSAGE

Welcome to the College of Information Technology and Computer Science in Sinai. Sinai University is one of the leading universities in the field of information technology and computer science education in Egypt. Moreover, we also look to aspirations from some neighboring countries, which in the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science are exciting, high-tech programs with highly demanding faculty. This encyclical addresses broadly the new group of unions concerned with engaging with ethical diversity and consideration for people in a range of organizations in our global and rapidly changing environment.

Our graduates are employed virtually across business, industry, academic, community and professional lives. In addition, some of them have become successful entrepreneurs and businessmen. The College of Information Technology and Computer Science includes three departments: Computer Science and Software Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Systems and Decision Support. The College of Information Technology places great emphasis on research and improvement projects in all areas of information technology and computer science, both locally and internationally. The Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science has cooperation agreements with both Helwan University and Beni Suef University to mutually offer graduate programs that lead to master’s and doctoral degrees. We also have cooperation with Al-Ahram University of Canada to implement a joint master’s degree.

About the Faculty

Sinai University was established by Presidential Decree No. 363 of 2005, becoming the first university in the Sinai Peninsula. In 2006, a ministerial decree was issued to commence studies at the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science starting from the 2006/2007 academic year. Since its inception, the Faculty has offered a distinguished academic program leading to a bachelor’s degree in information technology, which is equivalent to corresponding degrees awarded by Egyptian universities governed by Universities Organization Law No. 49 of 1972. The first graduating class completed their studies in 2010.

In line with global developments in higher education and a commitment to quality assurance, the Faculty initiated performance evaluation and quality assurance activities based on University Council Resolution No. 17 dated March 7, 2010, which mandated the establishment of Quality Assurance Units within the university.

Currently, the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science – Arish Branch comprises three academic departments:

The Faculty has undertaken a comprehensive update and developed a new academic bylaw, which has been officially approved for the three specializations. Approval to commence study in the Information Technology and Computer Science programs was granted in accordance with the letter issued by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities dated July 15, 2025. The first cohort under this new bylaw was admitted in the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Mission

Information Technology Program in the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, Sinai University, Al-Arish Campus, commits at preparing qualified graduates in the field of Information Technology, equipped with the competitive skills and knowledge that qualify them for the labor market in a way that contributes to community service and scientific research.

The Information Technology Department is equipped with the latest technologies and licensed software. It also includes more than 229 computer units operating in parallel.
