Building a Healthier Teeth in Schools

– Raising awareness about the importance of maintaining teeth for prevention before treatment
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of the University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kariman El-Soudany, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Kantara Branch, and as part of the implementation of the Community Service Executive Plan, a medical convoy was organized at El-Taqaddom Village Youth Center on Wednesday: 20/5/2026, in cooperation with the Faculty of Physical Therapy.
The Faculty of Dentistry team examined more than 50 patients and referred several cases to the University’s specialized dental clinics for further treatment. In addition, Dr. Somaya Ghobar delivered an educational lecture for children on oral and dental health, and toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed as symbolic gifts to the attendees.
The Faculty of Physical Therapy team provided medical advice on the importance of maintaining joint health and explained its impact on overall well-being. They also demonstrated a number of important exercises and trained both children and adults on how to perform them correctly.
Objective of the Visit:
– Teaching students how to take care of their teeth
– Reducing common problems such as toothaches and cavities
-Promoting the concept of gum health
– Developing students’ awareness of the relationship between tooth brushing, regular dental checkups, and oral and gum health
– Teaching students healthy daily habits (eating fruits and vegetables, brushing teeth and gums, regular dental and gum checkups)
– Correcting misconceptions about tooth decay and gum diseases
– Reducing dependence on harmful foods such as sweets
– Encouraging regular dental and gum checkups
* Raising children’s awareness about the dangers of neglecting oral and dental hygiene after every meal and the excessive consumption of sweets and unhealthy foods
* Enhancing self-confidence through caring for oral hygiene and dental health
