“The Foundations and Means of Victory” — An Awareness Seminar at Sinai University Highlights the Lessons of October and Strengthens National Belonging

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, and Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid Abdo, Vice President of Sinai University for Education and Student Affairs, Sinai University – Arish Branch – organized an extensive awareness seminar entitled “The Foundations and Means of Victory.” The seminar was held at the University Theater as part of Egypt’s celebrations of the glorious anniversary of the October Victory.
The seminar was held in a patriotic and educational atmosphere, with the wide participation of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif leaders, university leadership, faculty members, staff, and students. It emphasized the importance of drawing lessons from the October War and connecting them to the realities facing young people, as well as the challenges of the present and the prospects for the future.
The seminar featured a keynote lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Hawary, Assistant Secretary-General for Da’wah and Religious Media at the Islamic Research Academy. During his lecture, he addressed several national and intellectual themes related to the concept and making of victory. He emphasized that victories are never achieved through a single factor, but rather through an integrated system of awareness, determination, planning, hard work, and a sense of responsibility.
Dr. El-Hawary explained that commemorating the October Victory should not be limited to recalling a great historical event of the past. Rather, it should serve as a lasting source of inspiration from which future generations can draw the values of sacrifice, steadfastness, patience, perseverance, and the ability to confront challenges and assume responsibility toward their homeland.
He also emphasized the importance of preserving the national memory and protecting Egyptian history from attempts at distortion or falsification. He noted that enabling younger generations to understand the history of their homeland represents one of the fundamental pillars for building an aware generation capable of understanding the present and shaping the future. History, with its experiences, victories, and challenges, remains a vital foundation for strengthening national awareness and confidence in the ability of the nation’s youth to overcome difficulties and create achievements.
The seminar also highlighted the important role of young people in shaping the future of the nation, as they represent its true wealth and the cornerstone upon which Egypt’s development and progress depend. This role can be fulfilled through education, knowledge, awareness, hard work, and adherence to the national and ethical values that enable young people to contribute effectively and responsibly to society.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Sinai University students were given the opportunity to raise their questions and inquiries to Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Hawary. The session featured an engaging open dialogue and constructive discussion, allowing students to express their ideas and share their perspectives on issues of national awareness and the role of young people in addressing the challenges of the current stage.
The seminar comes as part of Sinai University’s commitment to continuing to organize educational and awareness-raising activities that extend beyond academic learning and contribute to the comprehensive development of students’ personalities. It also seeks to strengthen the values of belonging, loyalty, and national responsibility, in line with the University’s vision of preparing a generation that is aware, equipped with knowledge and education, and capable of making an effective contribution to building Egypt’s future.
