AI Tools Applications in Biochemistry

In line with keeping pace with scientific and technological advancements, the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Sinai University (Arish Branch), organized a scientific event on Sunday, April 19, 2026, entitled “AI Tools Applications in Biochemistry”, with the participation of a number of faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.

The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid Abdo, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs at the Arish Branch, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lotfy Diab, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Heba Kamel, Head of the Biochemistry Department.

The event aimed to highlight the importance of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into medical and research fields, and their role in enhancing the educational process and improving the quality of scientific research, particularly in the field of biochemistry.

The session addressed several key topics, including an overview of the most prominent AI tools used in biological data analysis, their role in understanding biological systems, disease prediction, gene expression analysis, and the study of proteins and enzymes. It also explored their contribution to drug discovery and the design of modern therapeutic compounds. Additionally, several intelligent platforms supporting scientific research writing and reference management were presented.

The event witnessed notable engagement from attendees through discussions and questions, with emphasis on the ethical use of these technologies and the fact that artificial intelligence serves as a supportive tool that enhances researchers’ capabilities rather than replacing human expertise. In conclusion, participants praised the importance of such events in promoting innovation and preparing qualified professionals capable of meeting the demands of the modern era.
