The 4th Scientific Conference of the Scientific Departments at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Arish – under title “Horizons for Advancing Pharmacy Practice in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: A Vision for the Role of the Pharmacist in Sinai”

 

The 4th Scientific Conference of the departments of the Faculty of Pharmacy (Pharmacology and Toxicology, Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmaceutics) at Sinai University – Arish Branch was held on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The conference was under generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, and Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid Abdo, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs in Arish. It was supervised by Prof. Dr. Lotfy Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Dr. Thanaa El-Masry, Conference Chair, with distinguished participation from faculty members, teaching assistants, students, graduates, and guests.

 

The conference was held under the title:

“Horizons for Advancing Pharmacy Practice in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: A Vision for the Role of the Pharmacist in Sinai.”

The proceedings began with the Egyptian national anthem, followed by a comprehensive introduction to the conference and a warm welcome to the esteemed attendees. This was followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, and then a minute of silence was observed in memory of the deceased students.

The opening sessions included distinguished speeches by Prof. Dr. Thanaa El-Masry, Conference Chair; Prof. Dr. Lotfy Diab, Dean of the Faculty; and Dr. Mohamed El-Hady, Head of the Pharmacists Syndicate in North Sinai. The speeches emphasized the importance of continuous development in the field of pharmacy and the faculty’s role in supporting scientific research and community service.

The conference featured a series of outstanding scientific sessions presenting recent advances in the field of pharmacy, including:

A lecture entitled “Medicinal Treasures of Sinai” by Dr. Mustafa Hegazy (Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy) and Dr. Ahmed Badawy (Lecturer, Department of Pharmacognosy).

A lecture on “The Evolution of Pharmacy Practice” by Dr. Aya Nassar (Head of Pharmacy Department, El-Arish General Hospital).

A presentation on “Three-Dimensional Bioprinting” by Dr. Rana El-Nady (Assistant Lecturer, Department of Pharmaceutics) and student Ibrahim Wasif (Fifth Year).

 

The conference also witnessed the honoring of several groups in recognition of their efforts, including:

Faculty members and teaching assistants across the departments for their scientific output during 2025–2026.

Administrative staff.

Outstanding student models who achieved academic or athletic excellence.

High-achieving students in the Fall 2025 courses.

Distinguished graduates.

 

The conference concluded in a highly scientific and inspiring atmosphere, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to supporting research and keeping pace with modern developments, while reaffirming the vital role of the pharmacist as a key partner in the healthcare system.
