“Mental Health Awareness Day entitled ‘Your Mental Health Matters'”

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, and Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid Abdo, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs at the Arish Branch, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lotfy Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Dr. Mostafa Hegazy, Vice Dean, the PhAi Family organized a special awareness day entitled “Your Mental Health Matters” on Sunday, October 5, in celebration of World Mental Health Day.

The event was held as part of the Faculty of Pharmacy – Sinai University, Arish Branch’s commitment to raising awareness among students and the university community about the importance of mental health, emphasizing that it is an integral part of overall health. The initiative aimed to encourage young people to express their feelings in a healthy way and to overcome challenges related to mental health conditions.

Awareness brochures were distributed containing simplified information about common mental disorders, their prevention, and ways to support those affected. In addition, posters with positive messages and motivational slogans were displayed, calling for self-care and helping others.

Interactive activities were also implemented, including the “Express Your Feelings” board, which allowed students to write down their emotions and exchange supportive messages with one another. The PhAi Family also used cartoon characters to illustrate different mental health conditions in a creative and cheerful way, which attracted students’ attention and made the concept more engaging and accessible.

The day witnessed a strong response from students, with many participating in the various activities, which contributed to strengthening collaboration and promoting a culture of mental health awareness across the university campus.
